First of all: you will hardly ever hear us talk about the investment in the first conversations. At most, we share a first feeling to gauge how you are in the game. After all, the trick is to first know how, what and why, before the deal is important. This blog skips – against your better judgment – all those steps and goes straight to a much-Googled question: how much should SEO outsource cost?
And then you quickly get the bland comments: 'Outsourcing SEO costs nothing, because it is an investment'. And indeed, that is true, but also too simple. After all, there are costs that you will only recoup later on. With SEO outsourcing, you are quickly talking about 12 months before you can seriously enjoy the results and return. So, what you need is a good dose of perseverance. What you build up in 12 months, you earn back in months 13-15 and in the following months you will make a considerable return, because you hardly have to invest in search terms that are in the top. So, take the payback period into account.
Fixed budgets also play a role. The advantage of a fixed budget is that you clearly determine in advance where the money is going, instead of finding out where it went afterwards. However, the disadvantage of a fixed budget is that super successful campaigns can be inhibited by a budget. That is why we advise clients to work with a growing budget. That is to say: the relationship between cash flow and growth is adjusted based on customization. This creates more cash flow = more growth = more cash flow = more growth, etc. In other words: exponential growth on all fronts! Good for everyone.
In our >20 years of experience we have seen all kinds of projects come along. From simple trials to highly strategic business choices. And it turns out: trials and outsourcing SEO do not go together.
